We caught up with Manal, a spectacular individual whose impressive career journey with us is the epitome of sheer determination, passion and dedication.

Manal, said: “Growing up in a family that is riddled with dental problems it was an absolute no-brainer for me to head in the direction of pursuing dentistry after witnessing the difficulties faced by my loved ones. Once I enrolled into university for dentistry I realised this is something that I am very much passionate about with or without the family aspect of things.”

At the age of 18, Manal decided to move out of her family home, relocate away from her family and enrol at University, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Once studying she realised she had the potential to make positive changes.

Manal added: “The idea that you can transform someone’s personality, give someone a confidence boost, help them with social anxiety simply by a smile makeover, new dentures is very fulfilling and rewarding for me.”

During Manal’s time at university in India, her passion for preventative care and giving back to those in need became more and more important. Also, Manal helped set up numerous dental camps in India which offered dental care to underprivileged members of the community where they were offered treatment and advice.

Manal joined The Dental Team Group in March 2022 as a Trainee Nurse to support her UK registration as a Dental Hygienist. During this time, Manal learnt a lot not only about UK dentistry but also about UK patients and culture.

Manal’s can-do, positive attitude propelled her into the Lead Nurse role, as she instantly became a leader in practice supporting other young Trainee Nurses eager to progress in their dental careers…

Soon after, it became apparent that Manal’s leadership, clinical and passion for the profession was something the practice and group wanted to support. Manal received her Hygienist registration and also became the Practice Manager and in true Manal fashion, she currently performs both roles excellently in practice simultaneously.

We asked Manal about her passion for her work, she added: “I would like to think I am very hardworking and go above and beyond for my work, I will never say no to anything, even if it’s something I have never done before I make sure I challenge myself, learn it and be the best at it.”

Manal’s continuous drive, determination and success comes from her passion, dedication and overall willingness to learn and develop as a clinician, a leader and a true friend to many through the group.
